Basic working principle of propeller
Working principle: The propeller generates thrust by rotating to push the ship forward in the water. Its working principle is based on momentum theory, and the pressure difference between the discharge flow and the suction flow generates thrust.
Design goal: The main goal of propeller design is to improve propulsion efficiency and reduce resistance while ensuring structural strength and durability.
Material selection
Copper alloy: such as ferroxene aluminum bronze, which has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties and is the preferred material for manufacturing propellers.
Stainless steel: high strength and long life, but expensive, suitable for high-demand environments.
Composite materials: such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), which has the characteristics of light weight and high strength, suitable for specific application scenarios.
Material selection principle
Corrosion resistance: The propeller needs to work in a seawater environment for a long time, and the material must have excellent corrosion resistance.
Mechanical properties: The material must have sufficient strength and toughness to withstand various stresses during the working process.
