Due to the low density, high strength, high rigidity and corrosion resistance of aluminum plates, ship designers believe that aluminum plates are more suitable for shipbuilding than steel plates.
1. Due to the low density of aluminum plates, the weight is lighter than other materials.
The overall weight of ships made of aluminum plates is 15 to 20 percent lighter than that of ships made of steel plates. In this way, the single engine capacity of the engine can be reduced and the sailing speed can be increased during ship design; the fuel consumption will also be greatly reduced.
2. The corrosion resistance of aluminum plates reduces the maintenance costs such as oiling and can extend the service life.
3. Good processing and forming performance, easy to carry out various forms of processing such as cutting, stamping, cold bending, forming and cutting, suitable for the streamlining of the hull.
4. Good welding performance, can be welded more easily. Small elastic modulus, large ability to absorb impact stress, and greater safety.
5. Aluminum waste is easy to recycle and can be recycled. Due to its non-magnetic nature, the compass is not affected.
